i have a 12v wiper system on my 38 and all seems good with the motor new wiper blades from wendy at i&i they look fine but the clearing of the rainwater is terrible ( and we do tend to get quite a lot of it here in the UK )it just smears the rain drops or runs over the spots not clearing them away was it always so or am i missing something on the set up of my blades

Clean the edges of the wiper blades with tobacco from a cigarette or if available from a bag of roll your own. Also clean the windshield with the same stuff. The rest of the problem may well be the tension on the wiper arms. Weak they will skip over the glass with not a lot of pressure to cause them to wipe clean. The tobacco thing is a trick I used all the time in Oregon also know for being slightly damp. I also hung a bag of tobacco in the windshield washer jar. Worked wonders.
