Now come on Bob. No reason to change engines again just because the AC don't work.

It's possibly a wiring or relay issue, or maybe the freon pressure is down too much for the compressor to kick on. I'll help ya with diagnosis on wiring if you'd like. It worked fine before you started in with the supercharger swapout...I bet its something simple.

Paul,
Actually it worked fine afterwards as well. I went through all the usual diagnosis and besides hating my now 16 year old EZ wiring harness that has had several people hacking into it besides myself I discovered yep once again down on freon. Joe says this is common with these aftermarket kits so he vac'ed it and recharged it and we are back to ice cold. Now to change out the brake switch and adjust the front dampening a little more and put the dash back together.
My reason for changing out to an LS besides it is what I should have done from the start and was going to do before both Jim at JGM, Matt and Ken Duttweiler convinced me to build the now rare High nickel block into the motor I now have. Plagued with tons of little issues this has not been the reliable engine I expected. It is powerful when it runs but still has all the usual carburetored SB issues combined with the typical rich running Blower traits.
I have done some research and based on the quality of the basic build Nelson feels I can easily sell the base engine for between $7K-$8K plus get another $1200-$1500 for the Supercharger plus what ever I can get for all the related parts. He can get me a 427 LS3 for not much more. Naturally aspirated he claims 625-675HP which is dangerously close to what I am putting out now plus will turn in 18-20MPG. I can either keep the TH400 or change to a 6 speed. So for under $10K less the return of say $8K I am out the door for under $5K and I don't do any work.

I got my sign up packet yesterday, #2000! No goody bag. I finally have my 56 Handyman to where I can drive her to Orange County from Prescott, AZ. It has only been 5 years and still not completed, but driveable. See you there.

Hi all. I am trying to get to the fairgrounds on Friday before 4:30. Could someone please save a place for my 56 Handyman? I have been going to CFAC just about every year since 2007, but this is the first year I will have my car there, so I don't know about parking in the Chevytalk area. I am shooting for arriving between 3:00 and 4:00. Driving on Friday from AZ.

Thanks, Mike

Hi Mike,
Several of us will be there on Friday late afternoon as well to park our cars, and there will be plenty of room for you if you get there on Friday.
I'll send you a PM with my contact info so you can get a hold of me then.
Tony has indicated he wont be there (Tony...aka grand poobah here at ChevyTalk) so Steve (swbatt) and myself and George (NailheadV8) and Bob (Hypr) will be CT's ambassadors for this year.

Thanks Paul. I hope to be there before 4:00, but since we are driving from Prescott, you never know with traffic. I got your PM and will call when we get close. I think we are staying at the Double Tree Club near John Wayne Airport.

Mike,
If it is the Double Tree on MacArthur that is the same one Paul and I are booked at.

We are close, the Double Tree Club is on Hutton Centre Drive a couple blocks from your hotel on the South side of MacArthur. My friend Dave from Texas is coming out with me and my wife will be there with our CRV We are planning to go to Donut Derelicts in Huntington Beach early Saturday morning in the CRV. Maybe you guys would like to go. We will try to be back to the hotel by 7:30 or so to get to the fairgrounds. If you want to go, we can decide Friday on times to go the Huntington Beach and what time to return to get to the fairgrounds.

I doubt we'll get up early enough to make DD before CFAC. By the time we get over to the fairgrounds, it's all of 8am and the place is HOPPIN already.

Y'all remember to bring some chairs to sit in the CT parking area (if you plan to hang out and watch the parade of cars going by).

For any of you first timers, head straight in from the main parking lot entrance, towards the back of the fairgrounds. We're on the main cruise route, across the street from the Baja Blues restaurant.

Been wrenching and polishing on our 59 Apache. How about your rides?

Moving this weekend out of the Haasenda of the past 22 years and into a new construction zone (remodel, addition, and a 27'x25' two car clear height toy garage with a lift). Move in just in time to go Tuna fishing for a couple of days then home to clean up the '56 and head south to CFAC on Friday.

I am going to get the ez up and associated bulloney tomorrow. I plan on going Friday afternoon to do some set up and place what ever cars arrive by then.

The more cars we can get parked Friday will help us to save spots for the Saturday arrivals.

Attention Friday arrivals...
If you bring your car before we get the tents up, DO NOT lock and leave your car in the way. Park close by and come back when you can. It will help us save as many spots as possible.

See you all there. Junior

I know it is late, but I plan to attend with my 2dr Handyman.
I will be there Saturday around 5-5:30 AM and will have to register at the gate.
Hope someone can save me a spot.

Thanks

Hey guys! I have a friend that will be placing his vehicle indoors early on Friday. He will be leaving at 10am. I will leave my El Camino under a cover in the usual parking spot.
I am looking forward to seeing you all at the show.

Great to see all youz guyzes again.
Next year's event is Sept 22, 2018.
Put it in your calendars and remember to 're-up' your membership on ChevyTalk from year to year.
I'm sure that helps Tony with the costs of running a fine website such as this one.

Next year, my 57 Nomad arrives for your viewing pleasure...no more excuses!
