Wiring is pretty much finished. Brake work getting close. Got the motor back yesterday most of the stuff installed today. Next week I plan to finish the brakes, get the transmission attached to the motor and start installing the unit.

I know I will run into unexpected problems along the way but I am starting to see some light thanks to all the help from you guys.

I have some pictures but I am having trouble posting them. I did get the transmission attached to the engine today.

I've always liked the grey/gray paint on the early sixes; makes them look Plain Jane, industrial, military, or just a plain simple look. The black really sets off the manifolds, and oil filter. I'm guessing a heavy, cast iron Powerglide transmission based on the starter motor ring bolted to the block. Lots of guys have gone with a later transmission, but I don't see that expensive adapter. Very nice work you're doing there! Keep it up, and keep posting.

The engine is a 54 with the 54 powerglide transmission. Both have been rebuilt.

I have read that grey was the engine color until 1953. I wanted to use the 51 color. I am sure that this is not the correct shade but it is close enough for a daily driver.

Today I hope to finish the brake work. When that is finished I am going to work on getting the engine and trans in place.

Maybe my goal of a running car by the end of March might be met. My problem now is to make myself take my time. Every time I try to rush things I mess up.

Congratulations on sticking to it. It's always nice when one sees light at the end of the tunnel.
