I am building a 383 stroker for my 57 Corvette and will be selling the good running 1957 283 that is currently in the car.

For anyone close by or traveling this way they can hear it run. I have no idea how many miles on this engine but it runs great and does not smoke. I will be taking a video with sound on my phone soon so anyone interested can call me so I can send it to them. Located in Cottonwood, AZ. dead center in the state 1 hour south of Flagstaff and 2 hours north of the Phoenix airport.

Engine will not be available until I install the new engine. At that time it will be placed on a pallet for ease of moving.

Engine will be complete as pictured with the exception of the ignition shielding, oil fill tube, oil filter housing, valve covers, draft tube, distributor, fan and pullies but will include the exhaust manifolds.

This is an originally stamped block with the broaching marks.

The numbers are as follows:
Engine casting # is 3731548
Engine stamp # is FI207FC
Head casting #s are 3731539 dated A 9 7 & A 16 7 marked with the power pack pyramid on the front of the heads.
I can not see the casting date on the engine installed with the engine shielding and draft tube in place but am certain it will line up with these other numbers.

This engine decodes as a 1957 passenger car with 4 barrel engine and I believe that the heads were the original heads from my car when new since they are 11 months earlier than the engine stamp date.

This would be perfect for the appropriate time built 1957 passenger car or for an NCRS date code correct engine for a 57 Corvette.

$2500. plus shipping.
