Just curious if anyone here has an ultrasonic cleaner? If so how do you like it? I just ordered one with about a 3 gallon tank. I figured it would be good for cleaning about anything that will fit in it. I have a couple of carbs that I will be rebuilding soon and that was really the main reason I bought it. Hopefully it works the way I see it in my thoughts. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

obviously ,like everything else quality varies and reading the fine print on the instructions for any ultrasonic cleaner and use of the correct cleaning fluid solution, used in it, for the intended application, helps results IMMENSELY
yes they do work very well, in my experience, if the correct solution is used and you let it run for at least 30 minutes,
why not post a link to the tool you purchased?

Honestly it's a cheapo eBay cleaner. It's most likely Chinese and hopefully when it arrives it will actually work. I will read through your link but in the meantime here is a link.

Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/351819654792

let us know how it works out once you get to use it!
like most of us find out, you tend to get what you pay for, in quality, but occasionally there are rather amazing bargains

I don't care if it has to run a few cycles to get things clean. If I was using this in a business where time is money I would definitely step up to a higher end unit. My main goal is to clean my parts in a kind of lazy way and not have to use harsh chemicals.

I notice when I have to scrub and scrape off heavy deposits especially in tight corners my patience gets short and I probably don't do as good of a job as I should. Hopefully this cleaner will help with that.

Hopefully this thing will arrive on 3-17 (Friday) so I can experiment with it over the next weekend. I am in the process of rebuilding a carburetor now and have one more to do so the first thing that goes in will be Holley 3310 parts.

Maybe you already know this, but I've seen many dunk their heavy carb bodies down on bottom of the tank, then swearing over it takes ages to get things clean. They are effectively damping the sound energy needed to move the water molecules fast enough to create the implosions that is the ultrasonic cleaning effect. Also, narrow, deep crevices are not reached by the ultrasonic waves.
Make sure not to use high pH chemicals with aluminum or zink. Heated water with a little soap goes a long way. For electronics and glass optics (no rubber gaskets/o-rings as is common to mount optics) isopropanol is the best solvent, minimum of drying spots (salt/dirt residue crystallyzing on the surface).

I waited anxiously for the package to be delivered. A few days later than the package was supposed to be delivered I had a package on my door step. When I opened the package I was seriously disappointed. The eBay store I had order this thing from sent me 4 boxes of wheel adapters for some funky bolt pattern rather than the ultrasonic cleaner I had ordered. First eBay experience was a total let down. After that I was eventually able to get ahold of the company through eBay no phone number. I finally got a link to print out another shipping label to return 8 wheel adapters. At that point I told them to just give me a refund which I am still waiting for.

So all in all it was a huge letdown and I'm still out $200. If I don't get my refund by the end of next week I'm really not going to be Happy. I guess that's the way it goes. I have already finished my two carburetor rebuilds and actually bought a new one for myself that I will be modifying for use with my supercharger.
