Wednesday I placed an online order with summit racing. Later that night I received an email for confirmation. I didn't read it and just assumed my stuff would be here as usual 1-2 business days later. So Friday I get home still no shipping info emailed to me and no packages at the door.

I looked at the confirmation email sent to me that I didn't read. It said for some reason my credit card didn't go through. So it was either I might have missed a number or something just didn't happen. It wasn't that there was anything wrong with my card or that the funds were not there but the transaction just did work for whatever reason.

I called the number in the email and talked to a nice guy about it. He ran my card over the phone for the order I had originally placed that didn't go through. The part that I like was that this was Friday afternoon between 4:30pm and 5:00pm.

This morning at 8:15am I heard my door bell ring. I wasn't expecting anyone. I go to the and I see a Fed ex truck pulling away. I asked my wife if she was expecting a package and of course the answer was no.

So it turns out summit had my stuff shipped to me over night at no extra cost. This is the reason I buy everything I can through summit racing. There was a problem somewhere in my order whether it was my fault or some glitch in their system and they went the extra mile to keep a happy customer happy.

Also everything I have ordered from them has been great in the last 15+ years I have been a customer. I highly recommend them and will continue use them.

I like the website it makes it very easy to find parts and actually see the specs. I also like the fact that their Nevada store is close to me. If I order something and it ships from the Nevada store I usually have it next day or the day after with standard shipping. 99% of the time the price is also on track or less than everyone else.

Both Summit and Jegs do well with customer service and quick shipping.

I've had the same thing happen with Jegs a few times delivering the order on Saturday after the order was placed around 10pm Friday night and no special Saturday delivery was requested.

I live in, and have my shop in Northern Nevada, 80 miles south-east of Reno-Sparks, and the Nevada Summit facility.

That said, I use Jeg's now, NOT because Summit was bad, far from it, both Summit and Jeg's are just plain top notch, both.

What I do get from Jeg's over Summit, is free shipping, and NO STATE INCOME TAX on my orders. Summit, being in the same state as I am, MUST charge Washoe County sales tax for items sold to Nevada residents. NO, it isn't worth using the resale number, the hassles of that far outweigh the 'savings' of no resale tax.

Jeg's, however, is not in Nevada, and their sales to me are no sales taxes charged. When I had my shop in Southern California, I used Summit exclusively, and they shipped from their same Sparks, Nevada facility. NEVER a problem, and if I called them before 2:00PM my time, I had the order in my hand by noon the next day, no problems.

I like both sources, GREAT people on the phones, fantastic service, comparable pricing for like parts, but, always free shipping, no sales tax, that is the unfair edge for me. I wish Summit didn't have to charge the sales taxes. I still use them for some items, though.

I think pretty soon we are all going to be paying sales tax when ordering online.

I think it is called reciprocity. Where each business has to collect the taxes for the state that the item is shipped too. Amazon does it and I am sure quite a few others do also.

Missouri is hitting up Amazon for collecting sales taxes. We'll see how that goes.

I know it is simply government greed, extort from buyers, any and every penny government possibly can, to pay for useless social programs and other wastes of efforts by one facet of the system.

The so-called "Fair Tax" does that, tax everything. It is nowhere near FAIR at all.

Flat Tax, low rate, NO deductions, please.
