Hi folks. I need some help please.

The hood hinges on my 50 Styleline were removed for painting the car, but their position wasn't marked! I'm now having a hard time aligning the hood and I hope some nice helpful person can give me a starting point by measuring where the hinges should sit.
Im thinking you could measure by putting one end of a piece of string/cord on the top bolt that holds the fender to the firewall, then measure to each of the hinge bolts?

Many thanks!
Mark

Can't provide the measurement you want, but can direct you to the shop manual and the section that discusses hood alignment. Gap between hood and cowl should be approx. 3/16". See Installation in the second column. Click the link for a larger image.

My '49 is sitting in the garage with the hood up, but I don't understand how you want the measure?

That's perfect, thanks.
It sounds quite simple now!
