I know you have to change all the bulbs and resistor for gas my ? what do you do to the voltage regulator on the fire wall do you remove it and if so what about the wires and what if there is no regulator ....yes it is a v 8 conversion in the works

Yes it is. I have done a 6 to 12 volt conversion several times and it is pretty strait forward. Bob_Hayden did a really good job listing all the things needed along with instructions.
