So, under a work bench in my dad's basement I found a big box of old license plates. I spent the day hanging them up in my man cave/garage.

Good job. We cannot do that as we do not change our plates. Just a new sticker.

In Washington State, there are privately run auto license/title transfer businesses. We use one fairly closeby; they charge an extra dollar to process the paperwork. 3 full walls of the office are completely covered with all kinds of different state, personal, vanity, and outdated license plates. I've been collecting plates to use for trim on one of my garden sheds; I only have about a dozen, and it's going to take a lot more.

Why Andrew, I do declare I don't know what you could mean. Its a reversed "P" for Peniston, a "P" for police, and a "D" for department.
It's as plain as day and I am afraid that you may well have offended my delicate sensibilities.
You must be the sort of base gentleman that sniggers when driving through "Dry Beaver Creek, in Arizona".

Actually I just about crashed the rental car when I saw that one, but the clincher that made me stop the car and roll around on the ground convulsing and crying with laughter was that the next sign was the retirement village with the same name.

People stopped because they thought I was having a seizure, and all I could do was just point at the sign. I couldn't speak.

Cheers Kiwi

Oh no guys it gets worse. I went online to see exactly where Dry Beaver creek is. Actually its in Sedona, which is just a beautiful part of your country and absolutely magical in fall with all the leaves turning red and orange.
What do I find but there's a Wet Beaver creek as well. If that isn't bad enough there is a hiking trail up to an oasis and geological formation called the "Crack". So this is the "Wet Beaver Crack" trail.
What were they thinking? I now understand how the 58 Edsel got built with that unique grille. Only in America.
Just so you know I am not making this up I have posted a picture of the crack. Can anyone tell me what type of bush that thin strip at the top is; Is it native or perhaps from Brazil?

Cheers Kiwi

We used to have a Climax Road here, but with all the home construction, it got "absorbed" into another road. Prior to that, the road sign was always being stolen. Sort of like that Discovery Channel "Moonshiners" show. The name of the town Tim is from is Climax, and is also the name of his shine. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

Great! Back in 1980 settling a hail damage claim on a home I was in a shed at the back of the property, the entire interior of the shed was lined with license plates, all from Montana but covering just about every year and county in the state. I felt it was to bad that the display was hidden in the shed.
