While installing the AAW Factory Fit harness in my 57, I happened to pull on the wire that runs from the starter terminal to the alternator - good thing I did, as the fusible link easily pulled off. I pulled back the heavy black insulator that covered the 'connection' between the link and the wire, and there were two stripped wires just sitting there - no crimp, no solder, no connection. How is the fusible link supposed to be attached to the wire? Do I need to go buy a crimp, crimp the two wire ends, solder it, and then use shrink tubing?
Oh bummer - I better go pull on any similar connections. Doug

Thanks to AAW for how they are handling the issue with the fusible link connection in my Factory Fit harness. Turns out the sonic weld didn't do the job, allowing the connection to easily be pulled apart, and the connection failed. They are making up a new wire for the run from the starter to the alternator. They have quickly sought to determine what happened, to insure it doesn't happen in the future, and to rectify the issue.
Regards, Doug
