A 17 red drive gear with a 44 dark gray driven would be the closest combination. http://www.tciauto.com/tc/speedometer-gear-c alcula...

29" tires and 3.73 gears is 2594 revs/mile, so 44:17 HAS to be the right pair. Whoever came up with that 34:19 combo needs to start looking for some better stuff to smoke. If Bowtie's transmissions are as bad their calculators, they are going to be having some serious problems.

39 driven and 15 on the output shaft will be right on the money. Small holder housing.

39:15 would be good too. That's 2600 revs/mi (44:17 is 2588).

The 44 requires the expensive gear holder for the tailshaft.

I didn't realize that the 40-45 tooth gear sleeve costs more than the 34-39. If you have to buy a sleeve in addition to the gears, it certainly makes sense to go with the cheaper one.

Yes the sleeve costs more. Mine broke at the re-builders, and we were trying to find one in town used, or swap, or whatever. Hard to find, and to buy one is more expensive. Still looking to find a cheap one, hopefully one of my buddies comes up with a barter deal.
