I'm going to try Carter W-1's on my Fenton intake since my Langdon Carter-Webers won't clear my Walton power brake booster on the firewall. This is on the 235 that's going into Ramon, our '50 tin woody. I have a set of W-1's that my machinist friend milled out to fit the Fenton manifold. My question is whether or not I need to use the insulator/spacers like the stock manifold does. I have the Langdon hot water setup for manifold warming.
If anyone is running dual Carter W-1's I like to see and hear about your setup.
Thanks folks.

Mike, from what I've read the Carter W-1's, if matched, are an excellent choice for the 235. Carter-Webers not so much--although more than a few guys here will refute my statement.
I had Carter-Webers on my truck for awhile, and ended up removing them, selling them on ebay for MORE than I paid for them, and replacing them with Carter YF's. I just felt better, as I believe the old carbs, when properly set up are the best choice for our cars.
My 2-bit ballpark guess is with today's gas, if you have the insulators, and can fit them in, do it.
