Hello gents,

Bought my project car last wk for $3k. My 1st new car was a bright blue & white 75. Not much rust on this NM car. Rust color inside & out w\buckets & console. Want to change interior to white/exterior to dark blue metallic w\white stripes. Finding parts looks like a challenge. Great forum!

Welcome to the forum, there are some great G3 car people here. When it's time for paint let us know, I can send you pics of factory stripe dimensions good for 75 & 76 cars.

Here are some pics of the initial state of the car. Disassembling the interior first, motor has 75k and runs, going to put a 350 crate motor. If anyone knows where I can locate the following parts:

Rear bumper filler panel
Half vinly roof chrome mouldings

thanks

What motor does it have and is it matching numbers? Reason I ask is if it's a matching number 350 4brl that's a rare combo.
Here are the 1976 production breakdowns.

305 = 13%
350 2brl = 55%
350 4 brl = 4%
400 = 28%

It's got a 305/2bbl with 75k on the odometer. Runs rough at start and runs better when warm so I plan on cleaning the plugs/carb and check the compression.

Bumper filler panels are available in fiberglass at Replica Plastics in Dothan Alabama.

I am not aware of any reproductions in the original urethane.

Anyone changed interior colors. Want to go from red to white using SEM or duplicolor vinyl paint. Anyone any experience with either?

Found a couple of places that sell factory replacement seat (bucket & bench) covers. One also has door panels. More $$ .

Last? - any cracked dash solutions other than plastic dash covers?

I've had really great success using SEM vinyl dye on my interior. It's a 76S3 with white swivels and panels, black carpet/console/dash. It's held up remarkably well since I sprayed it 20 years ago! Make sure you clean everything thoroughly, and degrease dewax everything. Going from red to white would be worrysome may have a pinkish hue. Would almost spray a dark grey first then white over it. Check to see if SEM makes a primer for plastics. (May be avail in grey), I resprayed white over everything except for red so not sure how it would react.
Have to post pics of my dash, I didn't like the covers either, so I re-upholstered mine with some black fabric.

Thanks for the recommendation. The grey coat first sounds like a good idea. Don't want to paint things twice.

Health issues force me to put my Laguna up for sale. I have removed the seats, console and carpet. No hurry to sell. PM me if interested.
Will consider all reasonable offers.

Hi all. I was cruising the site and came across this thread. I actually used to own this car. It spent some time in CA since I live in the bay area and bought it off a guy in Southern CA who had it for a while. When it left me it had the build sheet with it; i still have a picture of it. It was pretty much all original and almost everything worked.

I hope it makes it to a good home!
