Thanks, I hope so! I have 30 days worth of tasks to finish, and 42 days left. I basically cannot take a day off for fear of unplanned set backs. I'm jumping all over the place on priorities, but I think I finally revised my checklist for the last time yesterday.

I actually stayed on track tonight and followed my daily plans! I wire wheeled, prepped, and painted the front bumper brackets and bumper and had them installed in 3 hours, complete with new hardware! And I stuck in my spare grill just for fun. My better one is on the other '50 right now. Today was a good day!

I didn't get home from work until 9pm tonight, so this is all I did. I installed the fresh air vent baffles and dismantled the horns for cleaning and rewiring.

Busy weekend so far! Friday night I worked on the until 10pm, which is pretty late for noise in our new neighborhood. I welded up all the passenger floor, seam sealed, and painted it. This morning I made home made pinch welds between the new trunk floor and it's braces, made the hole for the fuel cell to sit in, reinstalled it, began seam sealing the underbelly of the car, and the rain showed up. So, I'm taking a break, heading to Oreillys for another tube of seam seal and a carb rebuild kit (new fuel ate through my accerelerator pump diaphragm apparently because if I run the car more than 30 seconds it starts dumping fuel on the manifold). My wife is sanding and priming and tonight I cut the tail light holes!

I got the carb rebuilt, ran a new fuel line, put in a new inline filter at the back of the car right after the tank, and didn't get many pics. Here is one nice one I took as a storm blew in and we had to put the cars away because the weather was calling for HAIL. She went to bed moving under her own power and starting to look like a car again!

Once again, threats of rain cut the evening short. Although I do have a garage now, it really is too small to do much with both cars inside. So as soon as weather looms, we get them both inside and button up for the day. Tonight my wife finished priming the car with temporary primer. I measured and traced out the taillight holes and got one cut out and installed. Wish I could have finished the other. I saved my old taillight holes to double check my measurements, something I would highly recommend to all who can.

For anyone reading this later, this is how I locate and mark the holes:

1. Bottom of hole is 6 1/2" from bottom of tail pan.

2. Top of hole is 2 3/8" above bottom of hole.

3. Make two marks per line, and check with a torpedo level.

4. Draw top and bottom lines.

5. Coming down 45 degrees from the trunk "rain trough" to the upper inside rounded corner of each hole looks to be exactly 1 1/2". Mark this.

6. Using your old trunk holes trimmed and saved from your old pan, align the trough edges and spot check your measurements.
Then trace all your holes. THIS ONLY WORKS IF YOU SAVED SOME OF THE EXISTISTING TROUGH ON YOUR OLD HOLES.

7. Although I'm not sure its exact, the outside edge of each big hole is almost a perfect 3" from the vertical pinch weld seam. I'm not certain because my reference car is painted. Someone please check me on that. It looks like 3" to me.

Rebuilding the rotten grill frame. I had to replace both ends with new metal. It's going well so far. Tomorrow is reassembly.

Getting ready to start the wiring next week! I tested all this last night, and most of it still works. I even used the tester to figure out the color code on the turn signal wires! The headlight switch is broken, but I did find an ORIGINAL in working condition on Ebay for $28 and free shipping. RPM Motorsports in Minnesota salvages and parts out tons of parts for our cars. Great resource and great prices!

Today, I finished bolting in the grill with all new hardware. Next I installed seats so I could take my dad for a Fathers Day spin around the block before dinner tonight. I didn't need the backseat, installed... but I went ahead just to see how everything looks! This is getting exciting!

Not really. It's been driveable for about two years. It's the first drive in a few months since I had removed the gas tank while welding on the rear end.

Today is an important day. I have a father of one of my students coming over. He is a welding instructor at a few local colleges. He is going to inspect the frame of the car, especially in front of the rear arches. We have a few soft spots that are deeply concerning and we are hoping he can patch the frame with quarter inch steel. Prayers for a good outcome!
