Harry, really liking your car and hope I can see it finished. I remember putting a Dakota Digital in a customer's '57 Chevy about 15 years ago, and had the same little surprise of no real means of attaching it to the bezel. Don't remember what I ended up doing about it, but your statement reminded me about it.

Keep up the good work and it will be the only one in the world just like it!

Tried using part of a stock bumper for the rear but with the insets in the lower quarters removed a stock style bumper just did not look right. Went back to a tube style like i ran years ago only this time i did a dual tube and rolled both tubes to the shape of the rear pan.

Now on to the engine, Using a 261 i have had and adding Serpentine . I used the longer type generator bracket. If you turn it around backwards and add the extra hole for the engine mount it will set the alternator so the belt will line up. I added an end plate and used a 10mm x 140mm bolt to get past all the bolts and brackets . Using the 55-59 front type mounts made it a little harder to get everything to fit , but it all worked out.

Steering Pump,Compressor, and Alt were from an L98 Tune port from a Corvette all new never used.

This serpentine drive will have steering and AC added, i may use a front pulley and drive the A/C from it. The Alternator power steering pump and water pump will all drive on the same belt.

Water pump pulley installed, Need to cut the shaft and move on too power steering mock up. Might wait till i set the engine back in the car as there are a lot of things going to be close or in the way. The long tube Clifford headers i have wrap around the alternator and i would like to mount the PS pump above the alternator.

Now the clutch , wanted a better system than the old stock linkage, Using the original pedal setup, Here is what i came up with using a 55-57 car bell housing , 60-74 truck clutch fork and 70 truck linkage.

Now to the headers, After a few times on and off the engine they have been mocked up and tig welded, I had a friend come by this morning and help hold everything while i wrapped the headers. The oil lines all cleared and i think will be fine. Might try to fire it this weekend.

No just a piece of 1/2" hot rolled round flattened on one end and a bracket welded to the power steering end.

Front clip is on and I did a prelim set on the grill, i moved the radiator down 3/4" of an inch and ahead 1/2". i was a little to close to the water pump shaft for comfort.

Will try to finish the wiring and put the hood on this next week.

2 days and moving things here and things there , It was a little bit of a pain in the censored to say the least. As evident from the left A pillar this car had been pounded on at the factory. It looks like the firewall area across to the pillars was spot welded in the car a little bit crooked. The right hand top was out 3/8" further than the left which in turn made the center off also. This made the hinges not want to go back far enough to close the gap at the back of the hood. I modified a few parts gave the hood hinges some more adjustment room and got it real close. Lets say better than any of the other 3 cars i have out back.

Well the windshield is in and the back glass, normal for glass just keep working on it and it will settle in. It's a lot easier when it's 95 outside the rubber will get good and warm.
