Apparently I'm in the wrong business, I should be selling aerospace components. After a few good sales I could pack up and retire. Hahaha!!!

Completed Console: I'm pretty pleased with it. The way he mounted the third brake light came out nice too.

Glad you guys like it.

I think any updates will stop for a while. He is leaving for France on Monday for a couple weeks.

I asked his latest estimate on completion and he said "It should be close to the end of May".

I had asked him to give me a price on a simpler job on the trunk. I approved that after his timeline response. I won't be surprised if it is mid June for completion.

I'm dreading the possibility of having to change the engine driveline angle.

Thanks, Longboard. You, your car, and that cool video were my inspiration

Speaking of video, I'll be making one when I'm done. I really like yours. I have a question about the music. Is that from a public music source? I posted a video once (of me making ice cream in the store I used to own), and had Ice Ceram Man by VAn Halen playing, and Youtube silenced the video, citing copyright. I'm trying to decide how to come up with some music to put with the video.

I probably shouldn't even bother to post this, you'all 'll be coming here hoping to see some pictures, and none to be had

I spoke today with Jean-Noel on the interior. He says it's taking more time than he had hoped, but wants to get it right. He has finished with the package tray, and got a lot done on the back side panels. Working on the modified arm rests. Then to work on the power windows switches, and get all that mounted, then to start on the back seats. The carpet is in.

He said he will likely have some pictures for me this week. So maybe I'll have something to share soon.

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner Roger, took the wagon on its maiden voyage from Grass Valley to Nashville on a cruise with the Good Guys, then on the way back did the NSRA in Springfield, MO. Only one thing happened, burnt up my rebuilt AODE. The Good Guys has a following trailer that loaded my car and took it to a tranny shop and was fixed in one day.

On to the music question. I have several YouTube posts with music and I now mention the artist and they all stay up on line. I'll send you a link when I get home on how to get music in MP3 format. I'll be home Saturday (I would send it to you now but this hotel internet sucks.)

Longboard...no hurry on replies. I don't expect folks are sitting around waiting to answer questions for me

AODE...Haven't heard of that. But a Google search seems to point to a Ford transmission. Were you towing the '61?

Thanks for the input on the music. I may try to update my Ice Cream making video from 1970, if I can find my Ice Cream Man music.

I'm fine on the MP3s.

Too bad I wasn't back in Lawrence. I could have met up with you in Springfield. If you are ever toward Northern Florida, maybe we can hook up then.

Unfortunately there are no Goodguys shows down here.

Here's some current shots. Next item is to be the front door panels. NOTE: The colors are somewhat off, especially from the first one. He's using an OLD iPhone, and florescent lighting.

Brief pause for a little entertainment. If there is an ad, it's because I'm using copyrighted music.

Cool.
I was going to say I believe you need to give credit to the artist(s) when using copyrighted music. Apparently I didn't actually post the comment I typed when you discussed this earlier.

Yeah...funny. The clothing back then was entertaining too, although not on display in that vid.

Actually, I did have credit in the original video too. But...the music is not Van Halen...it was an artist of whom I had no idea. Back in 2008 when I first posted that, Youtube would not allow the copyrighted music, and there was music they provided to substitute. So that is what is on the video. In the Youtube comments I mentioned that.

Looking for something to play with I decided to drop the intro and ending credits, and to improve the text at least. The old 8mm movie is pretty poor.

Back on topic

I'm hoping to get pics with the front door in place. Not sure if he'll send pics after one is done or wait for both. I may inquire about expected completion timeline at next set of pictures. Since he has contact with the transport he will be arranging the transport home. So no 'need' to know, and I don't want to make him feel I am pushing for finish. Want him to take the time he needs. Even though he told me at the very beginning: "I will not let this out of the shop until I am happy with it."

In the meantime, I am doing just a little work on my '56. The remote trunk release has stopped working. Turns out that the components in the remote for the trunk (part of the push button start system) reverted to latch instead of momentary, and the solenoid burned up. I have one on order now.
