I am asking for any assistance with this. I am restoring a 1965 Impala SS. The interior has been stripped out, I have replaced all headlights and they all work, the parking lights work. I have no power to the rear from the Headlight switch. I have trun signal lights in the front and rear but no blink. I have no interior lights or dash lights and all fuses get power except the interior lights fuse. what would make one fuse not get power? I have ordered a new Head light switch as well as a new turn signal switch for the column. where can I start testing?

I am at Carlisle and did not have access to a computer, that is the reason for no response. Your tail lamp fuse which is also your courtesy lamp feed is blown, that is why yoiu have no tail lamps. You need to see when it blows. When your activate the courtesys, on when you try and turn on the lights. That will tell me where to look for your problem. Are these new harnesses or 50 year old ones?

Thank you for your response. The harness is the original with the car, so yeah 48/49 years old. I only get to work on the car once a week as it is 40 miles south in Salem and is at my inlaws farm. I usually spend the week on the internet and the service manual reading to prepare for working on the Car. Should'nt I get power to the right side of the fuse panel even if the fuse is blown?? with the key "on" I tested all of the fuses and they are all good except the 3rd one up, which I suspect is the dash/courtesy/rear running lights?? I just installed a new light switch and a new turn signal control switch on Friday and a new blinker and now I have blinkers anyway!! I must fill you in though, the entire interior is gone, the wires that lead to the console light and the ground and the console clock have all been cut. do they need to be rehooked up before I get any of this to work? I also will note, I did get the glove box light to work and I get power to the door lamps and replaced the bulbs but they do not light up, not sure about all of this. I know I have thrown a lot out there for you but I really need the help

Hey Donni!!
So I originally posted this over 2 years ago and have recently changed out all wire harness's except front headlight harness (all seems to work there) and want to tell you, I just yesterday installed fuses and connected battery, when i opened the door and my courtesy lights came on, I was more than excited. car started with no problems with the new HEI harness ignition wire changed out. brake lights work, turn signals work, the only issue I have is, i replaced the headlight switch long before changind all of the wiring and after installing dash and all components, the push pull rod that goes into the headlight switch, does not "click" into the switch, therefor I can not pull on the lights. it seems almost as if the rod is not long enough to click in. can you help me?? do i need to buy a new rod? this is the original headlight switch rod. everything else works so i just have this little hump to get over, then i can begin installing headliner , carpet, door panels seats..ect.... your wiring product works awesome!!

Gotta be something you're doing if it's the same type switch...sorry to be so pointed. Those switch bodies are all about the same and the knob and shaft are as well. Should click in fine.

Hey Donny!!
I just wanted to give you an update and a big..BIG THANK YOU, for your assistance and knowledge help. I just installed the new headlight switch and am happy to say, everything works!! with the exception of the reverse lights, but that may be the wire on the transmission and I am fine with that. i have never seen all of the outsidelights work or the interior lights all of my wiring is new and i am almost finished with the interior, sending seats out soon to be covered and just starting to put door panels on. so again..THANK YOU!!
