Last of the restoration problems, I hope. Repairs is still underway on the wipers, heater fan not working, and now the temp gauge. Needle on the gauge has not moved since I got car running. I have replaced the sender and still doesn't move. I have checked hookups on back of gauge, they seem to be correct. Any ideas on what could be wrong. I really think the gauge is OK. Thanks, Tom

Where is the needle sitting when key is on? If it on the cold side, temporiarly ground the wire at the sender terminal and it should go all the way to "hot". If it doesn't, check that the dark green wires are plugged togather in the plug near the ignition switch. See the box in the diagram to the left of the ignition switch where the dark green sender wires connect together under the dash. .... Link to diagram.

Don, As I have mentioned before, I don't have a ballast. In my harness coming out near the w/s wiper motor there are two wires together which would normally go to the ballast(i think). I believe they are lt green but I don't have them connected to anything. Your thoughts.....Thanks for all your help. Tom

As you can see in the diagram, the ballest resistor normally has a green and a tan wire on it. If they are connected together and the ballest removed, it will run fine. If it still has points, they won't last as long, but if it's been converted to a electronic distributor module it may not need the ballest resistor.
The temperature sensor dark green wire is a differnt circuit than the ballest wire and don't have anything to do with each other. The temperature wire does go through the firewall grommet in the same area though.

Acardon you are the man. The two green wires were not connected, they are now and the gauge is working. Thank you for your help. Tom

I am having trouble finding out where the green wire goes coming out from the pigtail. The pigtail has 2 tan wires, one purple wire, one black wire in the pigtail connector, and one green coming out of the pigtail with a male connector on it. I have looked at the diagram, but I am having trouble reading as to where the green wire connects.
