Guys, dont go there....

The wife has already had a run with all the old jokes....

I am missing the knob from the front seat adjustment. The shaft is there but the orignal knob is missing and without it, its too hard to push to adjust the seat.

Does anyone have a photo of the item?
It dont even know what and orginal looks like.

Thanks Shaun

This is from NCA...and it says it's application is 49-52. Not sure how a 53 would differ.

Ironic! I could use this info too! We just put my front seat back in two days ago and that booger is very hard to push without the knob. We used an open end wrench for the time being. At least the slider works well.
I drove a '50 from the day I got my license thru college! Sadly, we sold it when I got married. I recently got the chance to buy the same car back from the man I sold it to; but the deal fell through and now I own a nicer one: 4 Dr Styleline Deluxe!

I also noticed that the photo of the 49-52's photo did not load when I posted the link. If you go in to the catalog and do the search for SEAT KNOB, you will see the photo.

The photo you Bob posted does look different, but I would think if the arm coming out of the seat is the same, the 49-52 knob would work. It might save a little pain and frustration anyway. I'll try to get a measurement on the arm on my '50 and post it here.

The measurements of the arm coming out of the seat are as follows:

1/8" wide, 11/32" tall, 9/16" long...it is basically a piece of bar stock [rectangular]

I do notice that on the 53 there is a peice of stainless on the seat. This is not so on a 49-52 seat. The nob on my '50 measures about 1/4" from the top of the slot in the knob to the top of the knob.

Thanks for the measurements. I will measure my 53 and verify if they are the same.

In comparing the shaft size from 49-52 and the 53-54 . There is a difference

My 53 shaft is 5/32 thick, 23/64 tall and 7/8 long.

The good news is with a few rubs of a file I can make the shaft fit the 49-52 knob.

problem solved..

It does seem odd that Chevy changed the shaft size for little benefit other than make our life more interesting.....

Thanks for the measurements, I didnt want to risk the 49-52 knob if I couldnt get it to fit.
