The stock radio in the 51 has a ring of foam rubber between the speakers in the radio and the speaker cover in the dash. Has anyone ever replaced this and if so, what did you use?

I've used 3M Fast Tack Trim Adhesive from the tube. Worked fine for me.

I mean has anyone made a foam ring. I know Chevs of the 40's sells it for 9>50 but they want 9>95 for shipping and there is something about paying more for shipping than the item costs which really gets me. So I was hoping to make something and was jsut wondering if anyone else had made one.

I have not tried to make one my self. But try looking in the insulation section at Lowes or Home Depot.

That in pure incentive to buy more "stuff" to validate the shipping charges.

Our local hardware chain stores sell closed-cell adhesive-backed foam insulation in several thicknesses from 1/8" to 1". Pick the next-thicker thickness (prolly 1/2"), cut to desired length(s) and stick it on.
