Question is will valve covers from a 283 fit a 265? Or are there differences like bolt holes?
Just because your car/truck was "Made In America" doesn't mean it's American made... think about it. Buy American First.

283 valve covers up to the early 1959 models will fit the 265 heads. Mid-1959 was when the bolt pattern went from the staggered style to the straight across style.
