Hey guys,
It finally cooled down enough to get the brakes finished up & the new wheels put on now. The only thing left to do underneath, is to shorten up the driveshaft so she can go back on terra firma. Getting closer to starting her up now too. Here's a few pics.

Yeah, these hot temps have been tough, I haven't accomplished much in the last 6 weeks !
Looks great, Jens! For reference purposes, how about telling us what your tire sizes are, and rim diameter / width / backspacing you are using?

very nice. the whee/tire combo will complement the car. on the heat-get and ac for your shop. i did many years ago and that was one of the best things i have done for working there in the summer. i don't use it 'til it gets close to 90,but then it is wonderful.

Those wheels look perfect. Can't beat shiny wheels and black paint, excellent combo.

We tried several different sized mockups with the goal of going with the tallest/widest wheel combo we could use without running into any stock body/suspension clearance issues using 17" rims.
We ended up going with American Racing torq thrust M (chrome series) part # AR605M7861C. Wheels are 17x8s with zero offset. Back spacing is @ 4.50" I believe. Tires are Hankook ventus H105 directionals ~ 255 45 17s all the way around. I guess this means the dog dish caps go back into hibernation. lol.

Nice!
Just to clarify, you are using that same combo front and rear? Any exhaust clearance issues in the wheelwell? And stock drum brakes up front (no disc-kit that changes the tracking width?
Not trying to be nosey, and I already have my wheels and tires; but this info will be helpful to CT'ers in the future who use the search engine to help pick their combos
You're gonna be rolling before me, Jens!

Yes the same tire/wheel combo front & rear w/ stock drums/brakes all the way around. No exhaust clearance issues. The 2" exhaust is tucked an inch away from the coil springs. That leaves about 1 1/2" on the inside of tire from rubbing on the exhaust. The outside of the tire has about an inch of clearance at the wheel well opening (see previous pic).
We tried some 255 50 17s, but it didn't look like it would leave enough of a comfort zone for body roll/sway on the outside wheel well as far as I was concerned. Here's what the inside exhaust clearance looks like.

I don't know about that Hobart. But I was looking through the driveshaft pile today & found a shortened shaft I forgot I already had. The part store had the crosses in stock & everything is blasted up and painted now & ready to reassemble when I get a little more time.

Hey Jerry, Thanks for the welcome back. Yes, my avatar is a 95 Corvette Pace Car, which I sold last November. I took the $$$ and did some remodeling to the house, and had a bit left over so I bought a Scion; basically a shoebox with wheels LOL. I wanted to try my hand at making a woody wagon, and figured a square box would be a good palette. Hopefully Jens won't mind if I post a few pics on his post.

Thanks Jerry; it's different. It's been so hot this summer, I haven't been to any car shows; besides I just finished the outside a few weeks ago. However, I have been to a few cruise-ins and everyone seemed to love it. I've always enjoyed the 'artist' part of restoring/customizing. Right now I'm waiting for some Clazzio seat covers, and am working on the interior. I just installed a 12" beer tap for the shifter. It's an automatic, so I had to do some adjusting. Donna
