I have Chevy Silverado 2002 Chevrolet Truck Silverado 1500 2WD 5.3L SFI 8cyl.
Two months ago I was on parking lot and the truck wouldn't start. it was cranking but not starting, after 30 min. I tried again and it started. It was fine until two weeks ago when it happened again, after 30 min. of waiting it started. But now it doesn't start at all. it is still cranking but it will not start
This is what I have done up til now.
1. I checked the fuel pressure and it was 55 psi, so that is okay
2. I checked if there are sparking at sparks and there are no sparks, so I checked if there is 12 volt at the ignition coil and there is 12v on each ignition coil.
3. I checked if the Theftlock System was activated, but the security message is not blinking when I put the key in the ON position. So I think it is not Theftlock
4. I also have checked if there is any codes with OSB II reader and: No cods
5. I have checked all the fuses and they are all okay.
I am lost, I don't know what to do next.
Please help,
Thank You

Check the Crank Sensor located on the block above the starter, although it should throw a code.

I had my starter solenoid go bad in my 04 silverado.
I would usually just unplug the battery then plug it back in that fixes the issue, but then it had enough.
Have that checked out as well

I have the same problem. For me it is due to the GM PassLock II anti theft system.
When your truck doesn't start, leave the key in the on position after it fails to start, does your message centre flash a "Security" message?
If so then it's a PassLockII issue.
Your truck is paranoid and thinks it's being stolen and immediately shuts the engine down!
If I do the PassLock "Re-Learn" procedure it will reset the BCM and you'll be able to start the truck.
------------------------- -------------------------
The “10 minute” PassLock Re-Learn procedure is as follows:
1-When the truck fails to start, leave the key in the "on" position for 10 minutes.
2-The security message will continue to flash.
3-eventually the "Security" message will stay solid on and stop flashing
4-after 10 minutes has elapsed turn the key to the "OFF" position for 20 seconds
5-try to start the engine
6-if it starts, you're done!!
-if it doesn't start you have to do the "30 minute relearn" procedure.
------------------------- -------------------------
The "30 minute relearn" procedure is basically repeating the 10 minute procedure 3 times WITHOUT trying to restart it between each 10 minute period...
The 30 minute process is as follows:
1-When the truck fails to start, leave the key in the "on" position for 10 minutes.
2-The security message will continue to flash.
3-eventually the "Security" message will stay solid on and stop flashing
4-after 10 minutes has elapsed turn the key to the "OFF" position for 20 seconds
5-turn the key to the "on" position for 10 minutes.
6-after 10 minutes has elapsed turn the key to the "OFF" position for 20 seconds
7-turn the key to the "on" position for 10 minutes.
8-after 10 minutes has elapsed turn the key to the "OFF" position for 20 seconds
9-Start the engine
In both the 10 minute and 30 minute procedure the "security" message MAY appear after you start the engine, but it will shut off after a time, or not. If not, it definitely should be off the next time you start the engine.
Now for a personal rant:
The PassLockII system has been known to have problems with its design, either due to the tinned contacts at the key module or at the BCM. GM should have used gold flashed or gold plated contacts as we do in the military on mission critical systems.
