I was asked by a member for some pics of my rocker panel mountings for reference so I thought I would put it up as a thread, just in case it helped someone else down the road.

The rocker panels are attached via two 31" steel channel pieces per side screwed to the lower body, as well as screws under the edge of the body through mounting tabs on the rocker panels themselves. The rocker panels hook over the top edges of the brackets and then get screwed in through "ears" on the rocker panels into the underside of the rockers:

End shot of bracket:

Front Bracket removed:

Rear bracket still on car:

There are 3 screws holding each bracket piece to the body. The screw holes are located about 2.5 inches up from the bottom of the panel, with the top of the bracket just a touch above 3 inches:

The back bracket terminates about 3 inches from the back wheelwell. The horizontal location of the brackets are not as critical as they are much shorter than the rocker panels themselves:

The front bracket extends past the main body and onto the front fender about 10 inches:

Hope this helps!
Jeff

Yes very nice info that is accurate.

Those metal pieces arent hard to find if you need to look in areas that dont have Caprice's.Those metal pieces have been used in many years of all different lengths and my 80 Camaro even had those same style metal pieces but not as long. If you have trouble finding them, check other cars/trucks with a lower moulding,as most will be attached same way or very close/useable.
