Does anyone know the torque spec for the four 7/16" bolts that secure the front brake backing plates? This is for '54 brakes (that are going into our '50 tin woodie. They sure were hard to remove1

I didn't know either but I found grade 5 and 8 torque spec charts on the net that I've been using. http://www.portlandbolt.com/technicalinformation/ bolt-torque-chart.html . If that doesn't work, you can find other charts by typing in bolt torque specs.

Thanks for the tip. I looked at your site and a few others and it looks like:
78 - 85 dry and
60 - 68 oiled (foot-pounds)

After being on there for ~58 years they required a LOT more torque than that to break loose.
