Need help understanding the function of the thermo switch that is screwed into the rear passanger side head of a 350 small block chevy. This thermo switch runs on the Heater / AC wire harness. On an AC car, the switch breaks the solid yellow wire of the harness. On a non-AC car, the switch breaks the Black / Double Yellow Stripe wire. I think in either case, the Yellow or Black / DBL Yellow wire runs from the dash switch to a resistor assm for the blower motor. The switch is open when cold and closed when hot. Can this switch be eliminated without much problem?

it lets the fan turn on when the engine warms up, you can just bypass the switch....

that reminds me i have to diagnose why my blower does not work at the low speed.
