I think the rear bumper on my impala is pretty bent up but not 100% sure. I was backing out of a driveway in a real small alley and "tapped" a telephone pole on the right hand side of bumper the same day I bought the car back in 2001. Anyhow the bumper always seemed fine until recently I been checking it out it seems like it might be bent so if anyone has some pics of a 63 rear bumper post them up for a little comparison, not having to much good luck finding google pics.

Can a body shop straighten a bumper out? Mine is not totally beat to hell just slightly bent toward the passenger side.

If it is pulled out to where it should be, there's a good chance it will mess up the chrome. You may have to get it chromed again, but then if you do that you might as well take it to a chrome shope from the get go.

Its more likely the bumper bracket is bent.
