Just finished working on the original type power steering for a customer's 1959 Suburban Carryall, it's a big one:

That thing is SLICK! I've never seen one before. Looks like 4 doors on the right and 1 on the left? I wonder about the length of the driveshaft and how long it takes to clean the windows.

Generator driven pump was stock from 1955 through 1959 for Chevy cars and trucks. The generator was very different from a non-PS generator, higher amperage output, different end frames and the case was one inch longer.

Here's an article about the car power steering for those years, lots of info about the PS generators. I have larger versions of this article. If it's too small to read send me a PT, I can email it.
