Can someone verify.Homemade tester with regulator, guage, and quik connect hose to cylinder.
90 psi into cylinder TDC, compression stroke.car in gear emerg brake on.
5-10 % leak ,good motor.
30% plus ,major issues.
Air leak at tailpipe, bad exhaust valve.
Air from carb,leaky intake valve.
Air from pcv ,bad rings/cylinder.

hmmmm
we pulled plugs from the stinky 350.it has a low mileage bottom end and all rebuilt cast,202 stainless valves, vitons, etc.ran about 200 miles.
2 plugs pulled so far are caked with heavy gunk.we put 90 psi in at tdc.air drops gradually to 10 psi.u can only hear air escaping inside base of intake but not thru carb?
any ideas.

Rings.
Leakdown tester numerical results will vary with details of the design.
I assume that you put an orifice between the regulator and the gauge?
