Gak! I went to a local swap meet over the weekend. It was a good'un as usual! except the bumper center section I picked up is too long for our 4dht body. and most certainly longer than the one I want to replace!
Aren't they all the same?

Hi Stanley,

The width of all center section / bumpers are the same. the only diff. is the design of the bumper where the license plate mounts on the bumper on a wagon vs the plate mounting on the trunk of sedans, hardtops ect. I assume we're talking about a 57 by looking at your title.

I have heard that some of the replacement center sections are too long. Maybe it is a reproduction section?

Hey Thanks a Lot Guys. On an after thought I rephrased this inquiry to the Nomad section of 55-57 Chevys.

I bought it from a rechromer at a swap meet. And yes it is 1/2" too long.

It looks just like the one that came with the car when I got it.

If they're all the same my no-name, too long, after market center makes me feel like I've been "...taken again...I been taken again...seems like singing the blues...if you snooze and you lose...I been taken again." Jerry Jeff Walker

A rather painless lesson, thankfully.
