Our 2007, 5.3 FlexFuel 'Burban seems to start hard,,,, it has always popped right off when you hit the key,,,,,, now it has to spin over several seconds,,,, before it starts. It will act like it is not going to start,,,, so if you let off key and try again it seems to start a lil' better,,,, runs fine after it does start,, no burps or belches,,, I put some cleaner in the fuel in case there was some sour gas in it, that is still working it's way through. No check engine or any other lights, or messages. Could the fuel pump be starting to die ?

My wife said she did that ,, does that re-set something when you do that ? Do not understand how that could assist starting with fuel injection engines,,, or if that does help, is that a clue to what may be wrong ?
I read about a key 're-learn' procedure,,, turn key on for eleven minutes,,, do not try to start,,, then turn key off, then try to start,,, will try that.
My first idea was it was fuel filter or pump, all original (53000 miles) but it only misbehaves with starting

Thanks for the help,,,, I took it to a local repair shop, [not dealer] it was the fuel pump,,, mech said also that there was a lot of missed or dropped codes in the Burb's computer read out, so he also put in a new ignition switch, since it was only 30 bucks,,,,and the parts dept had them on the shelf, so he figured it may be somewhat of a common repair. Fuel pump,,, well GM replacement [not generic ] was a lil' over 300,,, pretty pricey for a glorified windsheild washer pump,,,,
out the door was 600 bucks,,,, really like the Burb, but it is not perfect,,, we have dealt with the oil consumption thing since day one [2007],, GM/Dealer even told us that was normal to use/burn a quart of oil every 3K miles for that vehicle/engine,,,,,,,,
Now we hear there is a fix for that,, but it is out of warranty now,,,,,

Is that right? I was thinking about changing mine for the first time.

That is correct. It is built into the in tank fuel pump module now...
