just put flatbed on. all lights work as they should. brakes, turns, running lights, reverse lights etc....but...when the brake lights come on...the front running lights come on too. I know it's a short somewhere....but any ideas on where to start. new brake light switch but it was an unrelated problem.
thanks in advance for your response

replace the taillight bulbs first. i have seen the filaments short together and do what you are seeing.then check the wires to make sure they are not shorted together somewhere.

What kind of lamps does the flatbed have; can you post pics? Many of them use a sealed lamp housing that you can't replace the bulb, you replace the whole lamp.
If they're just the traditional old Petersen "Jeep" style with the 4 screws, double-check that the bulbs are installed correctly because it's very easy to get them in wrong on those cheesy stamped sockets. I hate 'em. You have to look very closely at the catches for the lugs on the bulbs to be sure they're oriented correctly.
Double check the wiring where you tapped in...brown to taillights and tag lights, yellow to left brake/turn, green to right brake/turn, and you should have a ground from the section of harness at the lights to the body/frame.

Another thing to check is the four way flasher or emergency flasher button make sure it is off I have seen those make the front parking lights come on when the brake pedal is applied. Good Luck
