Hello to all,
During my install of a new wiring harness, I decided to replace the driver side wiper transmission..? The rebuilt one I ordered comes with new a new cable. After talking with my dad he says that's a good thing, since they can stretch over time.
My question is....has anyone out there replaced one of these and if so, what are the tips to do it successfully? Looking up in the dash it looks kind of tight for my big hands. I also ordered a new seal kit and plastic slide for the motor. Wondering if there is anything else I need to get before I tackle this?
Dad also says to make sure to take note of the wrap pattern so as to do it the same way. I didn't get that far yet. Seems the farther I get in the new harness, the more things I find to slow me down and repair before moving on.
Thanks for any help
Brad

You need to purchase a shop manual for your car. You can see how to do many repairs on your car with it.
Your new wiper trans should come with a plastic clip under the drum that the blade arm goes on. Leave that in place until you get the cables installed.
The trans is spring loaded and when you get it installed, you remove this clip and push on the end of the trans to set the cables.
The manual will show this.
