My fuel pump has give up(last major part to replace since I bought it). Or I'm pretty sure that's whats wrong. It dies after 30 or so seconds of driving and will only restart after the key is cycled off and on. Plus the rental gauge showed pressure dropping to around 6 psi when it dies. Anyway, I am comparing pump assemblies on NAPA's site. The Delphi says it's good for 31.2 gph @ 12.1 psi and the OEM equivalent says 55-60 gph @ 40-50 psi. Seriously? that big of a difference. Why is this and wouldn't the aftermarket wear out regulators? Wouldn't the Delphi struggle to stay within specs?

40-50 psi is way too high for a TBI, I think that is the vortec fuel pump. Around 12 psi is about right for TBI.

I knew specs were 9-13. That's probably what it is, a wrong listing or misprint maybe. Not gonna chance it. Bite the bullet and fork out extra for the Delphi I guess.

I would suggest the delphi option. It must be an error with that 40 to 50 psi because even the vortec is going to be a 60~70psi pump as the regulator should hold around 65psi on a vortec.

Just ordered it. Even if it's not a misprint, I would worry about that high of pressure on my regulator. Thanks yall.

Also keep in mind the 12 psi shown on the Delphi doesn't mean that's its highest output, they're just giving you the flow rate in gph AT 12 psi.

The other pump may be the aftermarket brand attempting to throw one part # at too many applications.

That was interesting. Just dropped the tank and found about 2 foot worth of "rotting" hose in the tank and some scaly looking sludge in the bottom. It looks as if someone broke their credit card . Had to have happened at the lot were I bought it and been sloshing around shedding in my tank for over a year. That's my luck. Cost me $200+ for, at most, $80 worth of gas. A-hole thiefs.

It didn't happen since I've owned it. My dog would eat someone. I live in nowhereville anyways. The lot where I got it was in prime territory though.
