Hey all,

Got a little more time with the car this weekend. Got a 7' piece of exhaust pipe bent reasonably close and on the car. Unfortunately, one of the exhaust manifold flanges broke out on me. When I looked at the piece that came out, it was apparent one side had been broken a long time and the other side had been partially broken, I just finished it off.

I've seen the exhaust manifolds welded and did keep the piece that came out, but it's pretty small. I figure there are some of these out there likely available. I do have a hillbilly dual exhaust for a 216 that I would trade for a hillbilly dual for my 235 .

I also included the driver's side brakes, etc., after clean up photo and the passenger's side before photo. The last photo included shows where I took a small 80 grit drum sander on my drill and cleaned up the drums, worked nicely on the rough spots.

Lastly, while cleaning grease zerks where the tie rod ends connect to the pitman arm ??, you can see where they rub against the oil pan . I assumes this is due to the later 235 being installed in the 52'? or is it indicative of steering components being worn out?

TIA,

Chris

Chris check your bushings in your third arm(pitman) .Have someone turn the steering wheel back and forth while you watch the pitman and you will see a lot of up and down movement if bushings are worn. Also if the motor mounts are bad that and worn bushings will cause the rubbing.
