The TPMS sensors apparently have batteries that go out after about 5 years. The tire shop replaced mine for $60. Saw online different places charging $150 or more. ouch.

When my tires are due to be changed this winter, I'll have them change the TPMS batteries at the same time.

can't just change the batteries- have to replace the sensor. They are built in. So add $240 to the cost of those tires.

That is correct about not being able to change batteries. I am now on my third TPS on an '07 GMC Sierra. Mine has a slightly different sensor as I have the trailer towing package and Z71 with two-wheel drive. I don't understand why but the parts house 'puter list them this way.
