I just bought a 1969 Chevelle Malibu. It is an original 59,000 mile car. I bought it in Glenside, Pa and live in the Annapolis, Md area. On the 150 mile ride home the am Delco radio work on and off at times. Now it doesn't work, no light or sounds at all. Any ideas as to what may be causing this? I have power at the plug and have tried to ground the case, but still nothing. Thanks

Howdy, I would check the terminals on the plug and the radio. There may be corrosion preventing good contact. If not , there's probably a loose connection inside that needs attention. Barring that, Custom Autosound has some nice direct replacement units.

It's most liely the unit took a dump. They usually do this after about a inch of dust settles on the componants after the years. Try pulling it and cleaning it with some dust spray and then try it again.

Thanks for the thoughts. My power plug has only 2 wires going to it, but has 3 ports. The middle port does't have a wire going to it. I don't see a third wire hanging anywhere. Is it missing a wire at the plug? This is an Delco am radio. Thanks again!
