Just asking for some expert comment about an old fader/balance control that I had picked up that had the typical 57 Chev-style knob on it (not 55 or 56 or 58), with an escutcheon that read : "RR SP" or such, I gave it to a friend with a 57 Nomad, and never found out if he could use it or not. So, what did that particular radio control apply to fit?

This was for a rear speaker option available on sedans and hardtops. There is a prefabed hole for the speaker in the rear shielf.

And, I know you mentioned that the rear-speaker option was for sedans and hardtops. no rear speaker option for the 2 top-of-the-line machines....the Convertible and the Nomad?thanks for the feedback. Here's a follow-up question : Is there a provision in every 1957 Chev dashboard for a "hole", where a rear-speaker Conrol might go? Was the rear speaker option a factory-only option, or...was there a provision for dealer-installed rear-speaker installation? This was for a rear speaker option available on sedans and hardtops. There is a prefabed hole for the speaker in the rear shielf.

It was dealer installed only.
There was no prefab hole. They had to be drilled
by the installer at the dealership.
