Hi everyone,
I have seen two versions of hood spears on 66 impalas - one that has the square edges with the wider flat top (almost trapezoidal in cross section), and another that is thinner with a pointed edge (like a triangle in cross section).
Which is year correct for a 2 door impala?
Thanks!!

The spear with the flat end is a 66 while the pointed triangle one is a 65

The wide smooth one is 1966 only. Doesn't matter which model Impala or Caprice it is. The narrower one with the pebble grained finish and the raised smooth rib down the center is 1965 only.

Hi Everyone,
Thank you for your quick responses - your help has been so useful! I had a hunch that the wide flat-topped spear was for 66 only. Thanks again, guys!
