Hi guys,a few days after I put the timing cover on I noticed some assembly lube at the base of the timing cover where it joins the pan. I retightened the cover and still some seepage the next day. I pulled the cover and replaced the gasket. Again some seepage. I am using an Edelbrock 2-piece cover and used their gaskets the first time and a Felpro gasket the second time and used gasgacinch as sealer both times as recommended by Edelbrock. I'm now looking at doing it a third time tomorrow morning only this time using RTV. It almost appears that the gasket is getting saturated and is weeping.
Anyone have any thoughts on how to correct this or has had a similar problem. The engine is a 327. I don't want to install the engine until I correct this problem.
Thanks, CB56

i always use sealer, usually the high temp orange kind since it does not show up much on chevy orange, in the corners and on the gasket, generally, there will be no leak.

Take the pan off, lay it upside down on the floor and rap the front area with a large rubber mallet to spread the radius.

Front seal surface has way too much 'arc' to it.
