I have changed my binary to a trinary switch on the A/C
Being that I know squat about wiring all this stuff together and Google is not helping me at all, maybe someone can put up a drawing (I do better with pictures....yes I know how to read as well ) of how to wire, point to point.
If not, I can work with a clear, written step by step assembly instruction and make my own drawing. Told you I could read. Just keep the words under 6 letters.
1 ea A/C compressor
1 ea A/C blower and thermostat unit
2 ea Spal fans
2 ea Relays..one for each fan.
1 ea Dakota Digital PAC 2000 fan controller
1 ea Fan override switch
1 ea Temp sensor
1 ea Trinary switch
I think I have all of the parts listed above.

What A/C evaporator system do you have? Is it a Vintage Gen IV?

Blue wire from evaperator to both a blue and black wire on trinary.
Black wire of trinary to compressor clutch.
Blue wire from trinary to A/C terminal of Pac2000.
How do you plan to override the fan circuit, directly to the fans or to the relays? It will take a heavy switch and wiring to go directly to the fans from the dash. The PAC200 instructions, has a diagram for the fan relays.

Hi Don
I was going to use a SPST to switch both fan relays directly to ground at the relay (s) itself...I think. Another thing to study.
I went through your instructions.
I want to make sure I really understand what I need to do on the control side.
The compressor wire goes to a lead on the T-switch then to the A/C thermostat, from there to the Pac A/C clutch contact. After that the PAC and the switch work in concert to control the fan(s) turn on/off signal from the PAC.
Thanks Don appreciate your help.

You'll need a DP/ST switch to control the 2 relay grounds, otherwise both relays will be grounded anytime either one is grounded.
The trinary switch has 4 leads. The black wires are closed all the time there is the correct pressure in the system, so the compressor will run when the thermostat is not too cold. The blues wires are open until the pressure reaches 230 some odd PSI to signal the PAC to turn the fans on.
So, thermostat wire to one pole of both trinary switches. Other black to compressor clutch, other blue to PAC.

Oh-oh!!
you mention "both" trinary switches?????. I only have one and it screws into the evaporator (I think that is what it is called.)
Could you tell me more about "both"
thanks tom

There are 2 switches inside the trinary switch, one closes at 30 psi and opens at 406 psi, to protect the system from under or over pressure and the other closes at 254 psi to turn the condensor fan on. The black wires control the compressor and the blue wires control the fan.

Some think of it as three switches:
1. A low pressure switch that opens at <30 psi.
2. A high pressure switch that opens at >406 psi.
3. A high pressure switch that closes at 254 psi.
Hence the name "trinary".
BTW I don't know where you got your pressures - maybe from VA - but 30 psi seems high.
