Is there a good way to heat an older non water heated Clifford intake? Or should I just spend the money and buy the newer heated intake? Just curious if there are any adapters or good ideas?

Pretty easy. I don't have pictures here at work, but I'll try to post some later. I used the bottom of the manifold as a template for the gasket using a ball peen to make it. I used a piece of either 3/4" or 1" plate, cut a little over size of the bottom. Drilled a couple holes in the end and through and off set. The pictures explain this better. I used 1/2" tubing to route to and from the heater inlet and outlet using tee's. The tubing is made buy the same company that makes the brake tubing.
Works great and got rid of the off idle stumble.

Great photos! Thanks! Im a little confused on how the water travels through the plate. Is it just flowing between manifold and plate? How thick is the gasket?

In the second photo, the holes on top intersect with the holes on the side. I offset the holes to make a longer travel path, not much longer; but working in the space provided. Works great. Not all holes intersect, the two on the left connect and the two on the right connect. My manifold has a same cavity for the hot water to run through.

Sorry it was real early, that should be a small cavity; as seen in the first photo.

Thanks. I looked to buy a heat plate, but none that I found would work. If I had a mill I could have opened up the area within the plate, but it really isn't needed.

Tom Langdon (Stovebolt Engine Co,) has a kit for a stock intake that should also work on a Clifford. You'll need to find a steel "T" to plumb it into the heater hoses, and drill the intake to fit.
A cheap carb to look for would be a Rochester 2-bbl off a 350 V-8, or maybe a used 500-cfm Edelbrock - scored one for 50-bucks from a club buddy!

Why the need for a heated intake in California? I would not go through the trouble.
