I am ready to install my AC Hoses. My question is, it might be 9 months before I actually drive the car on the road, will the O rings dry up before then? Should I add Freon now or wait until it's ready for the road. Do I lubricate the O ring?
Thanks,
Charlie

It shouldn't be a problem. The O-rings I got with my unit had a tube of lubrication for the O-rings. Use pag or ester oil to lube them.

Your hoses will dry up...in abut 60 years. Don't put your refrigerant in yet. You may find a boo-boo and have to tear it all apart loosing the stuff. Once you lube the o-rings and put the hoses together you won't need to do so again unless you take them apart. New o-rings would be in order then anyway. They are really only good for one shot and they are cheap to replace.
In the back seat of my 60 chevy..I used my shields but neither one cared, we were gettin' our share.
