My truck is a '56 3100 4x4 conversion.
'56 OEM frame & body
'73 Dana 44 front axle & leaf springs
'73 GM 12 bolt rear axle & '56 HD leaf springs
NV4500; NP205; 388 Chevy stroker engine
PO installed Saginaw 4WD steering box with scab plate to outside of frame & used "stock" pitman arm & drag link linkage. Drag link is 11" long. My objective is to improve the steering linkage to reduce &/or eliminate bumpsteer.
1) Should I relocate Saginaw steering box more forward on the fram & used a longer drag link?
or..
2) Should I open my wallet and install a crossover steering system?
I don't know how to add pics from desktop...will do if someone can give me instructions. Thx.

Are you saying that the steering box is mounted in the stock 56 location on the outside of the frame rail, using the original 56 pitman arm and drag link?
Bumpsteer occurs when the drag link is not in a neutral plane when the suspension is loaded. There are other reasons for bumpsteer, but this is the most common. Can you reposition the steering box so that the drag link is parallel with the ground?
