I know, wrong forum but I stumbled across this photo in the GM archives -

Made me think of the 61 4 door SS. The photo was accompanied by this explanation:

The 1966 Chevrolet Caribe show car was built on an Impala 4-door body. It had bucket-type front seats with a center insert to make it a 6-passenger car. The top of this convertible folded flush into the body and was covered with a solid boot. Note the simulated wire wheel covers. Official GM Photograph from the General Motors Media Archives.

If you have a spare convertible frame, and a spare 4 door hardtop body, you could probably make something like this. How practical it would be is questionable, since fitting a canvas roof to the car is going to be difficult. Back in the 1960's and early 1970's, it was common for people to make up their dream car, since the cars were cheap and plentiful.

Would like to see rear suicide doors, a'la Continental 4 door convertible.
