I hope this photo was taken some time ago. I'm looking at fuel prices. Here in the south, regular unleaded is around $3.10. I really can't remember since 2 of my vehicles are diesel and I put premium in the '66. My wifes car uses regular, but I don't drive it.

Actually, the prices are $2.96 here where I live. However, in the New Orleans area it's $2.84.

1987-90 Chevy Caprice that has been 'Donked'.
And those fuel prices are about right; here in the Rhx area a gallon of Regular is about $3.40.

$2.90 here. Lots of Donks.

Brian,
I'm making plans for Cruisin the Coast again. I can expect to see you there I'm sure since you're only minutes down the road.
I like living in the south, especially when it comes to fuel prices. However, since I work for an oil company, I like seeing those fuel prices in the photo above.

Those things (donks) are the reason I seldom even glance at the mid-'70s forums. (As well as my '65 wagon, I've also got a '74 more-door hardtop).
I live in the '65-'66 forum & sometimes visit our neighbors in the '60-'64 & '67-'70 ends of our street.
By the way, my '74 has 15x8 rims all round with very close to stock ride-height.

I'll be there at Cruisin' (where I'm at now is 2 hours away)...
And over in Mobile, AL we see plenty of those 4x4 conversions running on the streets (funny, they never seem to take them off road...with all that ground clearance, they should do well in the woods!)

They need to be in the woods!
Most of them around here aren't safe for the road.
Cobbled together lifts and suspensions.
And,it's strange that I seldom see "Donks" at Crusin"The Coast.
Brian, the event's only 30 minutes from my house!

Mike / Brian,
I'm sensing a little B-Body get together. We'll need to post something maybe next month to see how many people will get together. I remember CarGuy saying that he would make it this year from Georgia.

This I'll say: just like the lowriders; the Donk scene has encouraged aftermaket parts availability for the B bodies.
And I've seen a few straight axle lifted 4WD B bodies with knobby tires too.

I can be there.Maybe just a general Chevy Talk get-together would bring more people?
Finding a spot to gather is getting harder every year as the event gets bigger.
Edgewater Mall is usually a great place to gather, but last year,I could hardly even get in there.
Plus the cops run everyone off at 9:00 p.m.

That event is getting so big, its even getting hard to find RV spots. Hopefully everything will work out since it is fun to be around so many old vehicles.

Last year Bay St. Louis was about the best spot, maybe a tie with Edgewater. Ocean Springs is becoming impossible. I also read DeLisle will be back as a stop this year.

For a place to stay during CTC,it's best to make reservations at least 3 months in advance!
A room on hwy.90 is the best place to be,as most of the action is here on 90.
For RVer's,do the same.
My wife works for an R.V.park/resort here close to home and takes reservations also.Thousand Trails/NACO affiliate.Name is Indian Point Resort in Gautier,Ms.228-497-2011.
And,if your desperate,I have an extra space here at the house with hook-ups and 12 acres for those who want to go self-contained!
Information about the event itself can be had by contacting Yeni-Penny,a member here.
Aside from all that,I ain't got nothing to do with CTC!

I've been to a lot of shows that drip pans are a building requirement to prevent possible floor damage, not necessarily to catch leaks.

I saw some idiot here in St. Louis with wheels/tires so big he had the camber set so that the tires were in at the bottom just to get the wheels in the wheelhouse opening.
The tires were actually screeching down the road as he drove......
