The pre mixed hot rod semi flat black paint you can buy. Is there any way to protect the painted surface. I would assume you can't wax it. Body and paint man I'm not. TIA.

If you want a semi-glos black that still has the protection of regular paint, you need to paint it with black basecoat and a clear with a flattening agent in it. Not sure if you'd be able to wax it, but it would give the protection that regular shiny clearcoat provides.

My truck is already painted. I was told it was a single stage paint.
