I need some info.....1957 belair do you use the vin # or the Body # for the production date. Attempting to fiqure out what series/design early or late we need 57 dual quad set up plus batwing the car has the 997 heads on it already Vin # 57N201532 body N101531 thanks belaire1956@msn.com 8152363086 I'm helping a buddy with this build thanks again

There used to be a link to the production dates by VIN on Rustbucket 57's website, but I don't see it any more. You do use the VIN. Your VIN should start with VC since it is a V8 Bel Air and the N means it was built in Norwood, Ohio.

thanks for the reply i have the production numbers if you use the vin number then it's a late car build funny you can also use the cowl body number for an early build thanks foe the info still looking for the dual quad parts mike

The vin sets the assembly date, in this case May 24 1957.
However, your body number seems a bit out. Depending on the body style, for example if it was a 2dr HT BelAir Model 1037D it should be a 5 digit number of around 11XXX for that date. Check it again.

those are desirable heads. Is the block code still there? What is that?
Is the fuel line 3/8 on the outside of the passenger frame?

yes the fuel line is on the pass outside he is willing to trade a second set of 997 heads for a 57 batwing also need the carb set up thanks mike i'll get the engine number he is the second owner
