I haven't wired a car from scratch since my 67 4x4 Mustang I built many moons ago... couple questions.
My High Torque Starter Solenoid has 3 posts, one large lug connected to the Starter itself, another large lug I assume for the battery cable and the 3rd is a small post I assume goes to my starter switch, which I'll run through a Clutch Safety switch.
I assume the above is correct for a LS motor?
14 gauge wire big enough?
Can I use a stock brake light switch for the neutral safety?
Reason for the bottom item is I can copy the bracket easily enough given there's already one there.
Thanks
Charlie

Charlie,
I am wiring my car with a AAW kit. I have the engine stuff wired with the battery in the trunk and a cut off switch. Your starter sounds just like mine, the small wire goes to the ignition switch. I do not know how to tell the gauge size.

Charlie, 14 gauge will be OK for the starter solenoid, but the brake light switch will not carry the current of the solenoid very long. Lokar has a push button switch that is designed to carry the load. .... Link to NSS switch.

Are you sure 14 gauge is big enough for the solenoid wire? I see it 12 gauge in most of the stock and aftermarket stuff I look at.
Voltage drop on this wire is a big deal and can cause a no crank condition if it drop too low. Better too big than too little.
Another way to do the clutch switch is through a relay. Then you could use a light duty switch.

CharlieC, is there a neutral switch on the trany? My Tremic has one from the factory, I will have to look at the wiring diagram that came with my wiring kit to see what is supplied, good day.

Henry,
VSS, lockout and reverse lights are all I think is on there. Would be nice if there's a way to add it.
Rick,
If the T56 based switch doesn't pan out, I'll ask for some specifics. I'll go ahead and add a bracket to the pedal hanger.

I used a starter push button for my neutral switch.I mounted it on the clutch master cylinder, where the lever hits it when the clutch is pressed.AAW used a purple#14 from the switch to solenoid.I added a second solenoid mainly for the ease of wireing.

I'm glad you posted that pic of your MC and Wiper mod you had to do. I'm trying to make it work w/o doing it, but glad to see I was thinking the right way if I do need to make the mod.
