I have a 56 Belair 2 dr Hardtop running P215/70R15 rsdials and need to know what tire size I can use to fit in the spare tire well to use in an emergency. Some one recommended a 205 width w/some air let out to fit in the well and an air pump to inflate.

I have a fully inflated 205-75x15 in my 55's spare tire well. It's about the same height as my car's wider 70-series tires. However, tire sizes are nominal, so one manufacturer's 205 may be a bit wider or narrower than another's.
